The Academy is dedicated to building long-term relationships with children and families through state of the art teaching models, self-esteem and character building approaches, and by being known as the premiere early education facility in the county.
GO! Academy opened its doors August 19th, 2002. The center is
open for operation between the hours of 6:30 am and 6:30pm, Monday through Friday. We will host an additional program (included in tuition) called Parents Night/Day Out: one Friday night (6:00pm-11:00pm) per month. The annual enrollment will be limited to the first 45 children who apply, ages 3-12 years old. GO! Academy will keep numbers low so we can focus on the individual instead of managing crowds. The educational program developed will be based on the best teaching techniques of the Montessori, Kumon and A Beka programs. GO! Academy’s curriculum will encompass the following sub-topics into daily activities: Language/Communication, Science, Math, Geography, Music, art, large and small motor development and physical education, thus providing a learning atmosphere. The approach GO! Academy will use is one in which children are focused on the Alphabet, learning letters and associating them with real life objects. Activities will include taking a phonics approach to sounding out letters and exposing the children to print. Our staff will be trained to facilitate problem solving and language building skills. Science based classes will be focused on activities that explain nature. Open-ended questions by trained teachers helping the children learn how to question and how to be thinkers. Hands-on activities include using simple machines, sensory table play, plant and animal life.. Math activities will focus on number system, memorizing and associating the numbers and becoming aware of how they surround us in everyday life. Activities include concepts of numbers, introductory Geometry (shapes), series, classification, quantities, length, weight, use of simple graphs, simple addition and subtraction, and money. Learning about the “World Around Us” will be the focusing on the United States and its regional cultures. GO! Academy will also touch on other countries and life styles, providing the children with an invaluable concept of diversity, communication and culture. Exposure to and involvement with simple rhythm instruments is apart of our music program. Rhythms and also “practiced” by the learning of songs and musical plays. Guest Musicians will visit the children to give exposure to a variety of sound and diverse musical styles. Tone, volume, and pitch awareness is part of the music curriculum. Exploratory, sensory art activities help the children experience the variety of life. Collages and creating mobiles will be offered. Paints, chalk, pencils, paper, markers, glue, paste, and play dough will be incorporated into daily activities to bring out the creativity in our young minds, and help them to see the color and beauty of the world. Large Motor Training young bodies in a healthy manner focusing on cardio endurance, muscle toning, flexibility, and balance. Movement activities such as free dance, climbing, running, aerobics, yoga and balancing are a part of the large motor program. Small Motor This will include the handling of simple tools (spoons to pencils) in art activities to drawing letters and numbers. Children will continually be offered the opportunities to develop their small muscle groups through a variety of activities. Everything you know in life you have learned, this category will focus on everything that doesn’t fall in a natural subject such as tying shoes, the value of money; learning name, address, and phone number, manner, etc. Classroom visitors might describe a career or hobby. This could include dentists, fire fighters and police officers. GO! Academy will provide nutritionally balanced snacks, meals, and cooking activities. We encourage the children to have a “friendly” bite. This bite insures the children taste everything on their plate. We will limit sugar to special occasions only, such as birthdays and holidays. GO! Academy prefers parents to send
healthy celebration snacks such as dried and fresh fruits, juice-sicles, or other nutritious alternatives to cake and ice cream. GO! Academy will provide approximately two-thirds of the child’s daily nutritional needs. Seconds are offered to the children
after they have eaten their entire tray. Teachers will eat seated with the children, providing relaxed times, rich with conversation and fellowship. Parents are welcome to join. GO! Academy will have a quad camera surveillance system. There will be a camera in every classroom as well as a camera monitoring the Playground. This system will be in place to ensure the integrity of GO! Academy to the parents. Application Fee $45.00
